IT and network security background, focused on small-business websites.
TrentNetworks is a part-time freelance practice — websites built by someone who also works professionally in network engineering and IT security, and who applies that same attention to detail to every site.
Why that background matters for a website
By day, this is run by a network engineer at a cybersecurity company, with 15+ years of experience across networking, security, systems administration, and general IT. TrentNetworks is the part-time practice that applies that same background to small-business websites.
A lot of small-business websites are technically fragile: slow hosting, expired domains, no backups, no real security headers. Coming from a network and security background means those things get handled correctly the first time — proper DNS, HTTPS, security headers, and hosting that doesn't quietly break.
Design and content matter too, of course. But a site that looks good and falls over (or gets flagged by a browser, or never shows up in search) doesn't help the business. The goal is a site that's solid on both fronts.
How AI fits in
Modern AI tools are used throughout the process — for design exploration, drafting copy, and cleaning up images — to move faster on the parts that benefit from it. Every site is still reviewed, adjusted, and finished by hand before it goes live; AI speeds up the process, it doesn't replace the judgment calls.
Where this practice operates
Currently serving small businesses in and around Du Quoin, IL, and Austin, TX — and open to remote projects beyond those areas. See the client sites page for examples of recent work.
